I came across the idea simply because I am an Eric Clapton fan. I was looking for information about his latest album after hearing a track on the radio. So I typed “Eric Clapton New Album” into google and pressed return. That is when I discovered that there are numerous fan websites for him.
Being a fan I was lost in wonder at all the wonderful information about my hero Eric. I was also completely taken in to the various websites before I came to my senses and saw what was happening. I was a fan being drawn in and was clicking from site to site and following links. I could have bought songs, albums, posters, memorabilia, calendars, T-shirts and much more. I did order the new Clapton album. I also must have made at least 5 or 6 adsense clicks while looking around so someone made some money from my search for information.
The point is that an obsessive fan always wants to know everything there is to know about their favourite celebrity. Your task is to create a site based around this person or group that meets the needs and wants of a fan.
Look at the Google zeitgeist listings for 2010. Look in particular at the “Fastest Rising People” section. Just think how many website visitors you could have had by setting up a fansite for some of these highly searched famous names.

Celebrity and fans go hand in hand. And there seems to be a never ending supply of new faces to follow and be devoted to. Think of the latest pop singers, groups, movie stars and people who are just famous for being famous. These people are always in the news and fans are always wanting to know what is happening to their favourite stars.
You can probably bring to mind 10 famous people who are current and in the news on a daily basis at the moment. These are the people you want to build a site around. You could end up with a sizeable home based internet business just by setting up some fan websites.
